Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the fantastic mums out there

A lot of our animals on the farm are Mummies themselves and we thought we'd share the story of one of our rescues...

Just two weeks after being rescued by HH&F, one of our lovely ferrets surprised us by giving birth to 5 adorable babies Here she is snuggled up with one of them.

Some fun facts about ferrets and motherhood:

Ferret mothers are also called 'jills'

From the moment their baby is born, the mother meticulously cleans and cares for each one, ensuring they're warm and well-fed

Jills fiercely protect their kits from any perceived threats

In the wild, ferret mothers prepare cosy dens to give birth and raise their young - a trait we saw as ours adapted to her safe space with us!

We'd love for you to share your pet's/animal's motherhood stories/pics in the comments if you have any!

🍀 Good luck Bill!

Our Tawny Owl chick who was found in a garage in Delph has been moved to our outdoor aviary. In a couple of weeks, once he has adjusted and learned how to hunt for food, he will be released here. Owle
